Payson Arizona, Elk Cross Walk

Proof that Wildlife Cross Walks prevent vehicle/wildlife collisions!

This project included the installation of ElectroBraid electrified fencing to funnel elk through underpasses along a 3 mile stretch of highway in Arizona.  Where a tunnel or bridge was not feasible the Elk Cross Walk was installed.

Now elk and deer on the highway are detected electronically and warning lights flash. A sign tells motorists they are entering the elk cross walk area and prevent collisions.  This unique project involved the Game and Fish Department, Arizona Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration and the US Forest Service and ElectroBraid Wildlife (now Lampman).
